Stefan-George-Haus
The Stefan George exhibition comprises seven glass cabinets with four thematic focal points which give an insight into the most important phases in the life of Stefan George (born 12.7.1868 in Bingen, died 4.12.1933 in Minusio/Locarno). The museum also displays George's writing desk, some pieces from his library, examples of book designs by Melchior Lechter and editions of George's work translated into other languages, as well as some sculptures by Victor Frank, Heinrich Moshage, Ludwig Thormaehlen, Urban Thiersch and Alexander Zschokke. The museum is managed by the Stefan-George Society in collaboration with the Stefan-George Foundation, Stuttgart, who owns most of the exhibits.
